Citrus seems to turn within a year for me, while the resins go on forever. Dark glass, cool cupboard, lids tight.

Citrus 1 year, florals 2–3, woods and resins basically indefinite. Write the opening date on the bottle.
The opening-date tip changed everything for me. Tiny label, no more guessing.
Fridge for citrus if you have space. Noticeably slower to turn.
